From the original Testimonials page at http://www.power-surge.com/testimonials/testimonials.htm

From something I posted fairly far down the list, it seems that these might have been compiled around 2003.

I hope to add more to this from the currant message boards.

“This is what it’s *really* all about!” — Dearest

AimeeDecorates: “There is nothing out there that comes “close” to this site!”

Psychotherapist, Author, Mira Kirshenbaum: “The three greatest needs women have are for support, understanding, and a way to break through their sense of isolation. It’s because of the amazing way she meets these needs that Alice Stamm (Dearest) and her Power-Surge.com site are so wonderful. She makes you feel that you have come home to the best friend/sister/mother you can imagine. Every time I’ve visited with the Power-Surge community I’ve experienced this warmth and connection. This is a must-view site for women!” Mira Kirshenbaum, author of, Everything Happens For A Reason: Finding The True Meaning of the Events of Our Lives.

newjourneys: “Dearest, there are really no adequate words to express what your heartfelt efforts mean to this perimenopausal women with regard to this website. About year I came here as a last resort when things were really bleak and have continued to keep in touch sporadically. Just knowing this place exists, with its warm, caring community of women has and DOES make a world of difference – and honestly, on more than one occasion has literally saved my life. I am the only woman of my generation and information about women’s lives and physical changes has been at times very challenging to obtain. Plus, you took the time to personally respond to a prayer request. Everything did come out ok – all the tests clear – and my feedback to you about this site, dear woman, is THANK YOU from the very depths of my heart. Many times I’ve passed the URL on to other women, especially younger women coming up so that they too, can know there is a safe place to go. I wish you all the Blessings in the world.

Peace,
Judith”

Author, Former Olympic Gold Medal Winner, Dick Roth: Author of No, It’s Not Hot In Here: A Husband’s Guide To Understanding Menopause.

On Power Surge: “This is a menopause support network on the Internet. This site rocks. Check it out. It has everything you ever wanted to know about menopause – with music, too. Unlike a lot of Web sites, this one feels friendly.”

Dick Roth

MaryO: “I’ve been hanging around Power Surge for several years (9), first as a lurker, then gradually posting more and more.

Power Surge has literally changed my life. It has comforted me in the darkest, scariest moments when my husband was close to dying. I would come home from the hospital and read PS messages. No matter what the time of day was, I could always read and see that things were ok with the world, and know that we were going to survive this.

Power Surge has helped me get braver in real life. By learning to “talk” in chat rooms I was able to branch out, little by little and talk to others, too. I learned about R here and that has done wonders for me. It enabled me to get off the HRT I was terrified of taking, and to feel better in so many ways. I found out that I was not alone with so many of my problems. I’d always assumed that I was the only one who felt thus and so, and I found out that others who appeared to be so much more together than I, actually shared some of those same fears. I have made the best friends I have ever had right here in Power Surge.

Thank you, again, always, for creating this haven for us, Dearest. You have been a miracle in my life, and I’m sure in many others, as well.

Power Surge seems to have it all – it always does, but then you turn around and add something else. I don’t know where you come up with all these wonderful ideas, and guests for the chats, but I’m so happy that you do.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart!”

milatova: “Dearest, I would like to take the time to thank you for this site. I feel SO much better finding a community of women, like this. I’m still not convinced that I’m not going at least a little bit crazy, but at least I’m not the only one. I’ve also realized a lot about myself — through these threads and through the women on them — that I hadn’t realized before. It’s a much needed eye-opener — and I’ve had my eyes closed for too long.

Thank you for that! You are truly a Revolutionary Woman!!!
Milatova

Psychiatrist, Author, Susan Rako, MD: “Power Surge and its founder, Dearest, provide a unique service to women in our prime — compassionate company and intelligent, responsible information — and I am honored to be a part of the network of guests.” Susan Rako, author of, The Hormone of Desire: The Truth About Testosterone, Sexuality, and Menopause.

Ross: “Dearest, Several months ago I was attempting to “discover and help” my wife in her mood swings, loss of libido, flashes, etc. After reading through and downloading over 350 messages concerning perimenopause, I feel I have gained valuble insight and understanding not only for my wife, but all the “surgettes” out there. Anyway, ever since my research, I have recieved email from you dear heart concerning the power surges chats and such. Although my best friend finds this one of the funniest things he’s seen in years (me being refered to as a “surgette”) I just wanted you to know that “This” man is very appreciative for all you have done for not only the ladies out there dealing with this issue, but the men out here who desire to learn and become more understanding about what our soulmates must endure.

Warm hugs to you Dearest.
Russ (a man) Johnson

Brenda Russell: I am 41 years old, and at the ripe ‘young’ age of 39, started to experience odd changes in my body. Insomnia, headaches, anxiety, and many other strange and unusual symptoms. I lost touch with reality, and thought for sure I was dying of some dreadful, deadly disease. After visiting several medical professionals, and spending endless hours having endless, unnecessary tests that always came back negative (MRI of head/neck, ANA panels, Stomach tests, numerous blood tests, ultra-sounds, CT Scans, Neurological exams, numerous heart tests) I took myself to the internet in search of answers. I was close to the breaking point, and feared for my sanity.

I found my answers. On a Website called Power-Surge.com. I found a woman by the name of Alice Stamm, who calls herself “Dearest”, and rightfully so. This woman has helped me to understand that my fears and anxieties are the result of fluctuating hormones. The result of a natural process that occurs in women between the ages of 35 and 50 (normally) called perimenopause. A ‘natural change’ that is, in my opinion, overlooked in the medical community. I spent hours upon hours reading the wealth of information on the Power Surge Website. I studied, I took notes. I visited the message board associated with this Website and found many, many other women going through the exact same thing I am going through. And I talked to them, through postings, and found the support and understanding that I could not find here in the ‘real world’. I took the information that I found through Power Surge, to my doctor. After reading my notes, he realized that I am not crazy. I am not a hypochondriac. I am going through the change of life.

I am still having a terrible perimenopause. This is certainly not an easy transition for any woman to endure, and I expect that I will be going through this ‘change’ for many more years to come. But thankfully, I found Power Surge. I now have somewhere that I can go and find the information that I need; other people that understand. Support, friendships, and Dearest. The time and effort that this woman puts into this website, and the love and understanding that she gives to these women that she has never met, and probably never will, should be highly recognized. If I could create an award for “Saving A Person’s Sanity”, it would be given to Dearest. She truly is a lifesaver, in my opinion. Power Surge IS an Internet Lifesaver; I am a living example of this.

Sincerely,
Brenda Russell

whoamitoday: “Dearest, I just came from hearing your voice on “What is Power Surge”and it brought tears to my eyes. You don’t know how good it felt to hear your soft, sensitive voice. Expressing all the feelings I have inside and can’t express to those loved ones who don’t understand what I am going through. You’re right – I do feel closer to those on this message board and other sites. It’s incrediable the bond we form. All strangers but yet “friends”. Thank you, Dearest for being you! Yet, I’m still not expressing all that is inside of me.”

Barbra: “This is one of the most incredible websites if not the most incredible website I have been to. This site has TRULY been a lifesaver for me. Thank you so much Dearest for what you brought to my life, and that is hope which I thought I had lost. What you have accomplished here is an inspiration for the whole world to see, the contribution you have made to Womankind is priceless. Where would so many thousands of women be without Power Surge.

Again THANKS.
Barbra “

Robert: “This site is a godsend. I don’t see many men posting but I am sure they are out there reading and learning as I am. I have learned so much about menopause to help my wife thru it. She is having a hard time and though I have learned about the symptoms, other then being there to support and stroke her.

I have looked all over the web for sites on menopause to help my wife and this is by far the most supportive and educational site I have found.

Congratulations and thank you.
Robert”

Becky: ” This site is just wonderful. I had no idea what was going on and a friend pointed out this the power surge site. Yep, I am in peri and I am so thankful for all the tips, help and wonderful women on this board. Thank you so much.
Becky”

ChrisSullivan: “Hi Dearest,

My name is Chris and I treasure the Power Surge site — everything from the message boards to recommendations, guests, etc. etc. What a wonderful way for all of us to support each other and gather a world of helpful information.

Thanks Dearest for continuing with this wonderful site and am looking forward to learning even more.

Hugs,
Christine Sullivan “

aikidomama: “To say that this site has pioneered the next major phase of the liberation of women, sounds a bit extreme, but it’s how I feel. The only thing that has stopped women from taking their rightful place in this world is the fact that we were all suffering in silence, thinking that we were going insane. Now that the truth has set us free, look out world.

Love you all and so glad I found you”

Irene Crites: “My Dear Dearest, How can one improve on perfection? Most would say one cannot however you do it time and time again. Everytime I see some new creation of yours for Power Surge I just scratch my head and smile. Power Surge, for me, is everything it could and should be. I receive support, caring, information, love and laughter all in one place. What a menu. I have never been shy about my feelings for you and Power Surge Dearest, you saved my life. No brag, just fact!!!! I will be forever grateful for that Sunday evening in 1995 that I just by chance (and I do mean by chance with my computer skills) landed in Power Surge. You have created a warm, safe haven for a population of women at probably one of the most vulnerable times of our lives, that you watch over like our “Guardian Angel”. You research all the newest information on menopause and other related subjects and share it all with us. The guest experts that you attract to our chats is just another confirmation of your professionalism and dedication to this community. The time you invest in personally answering posts is mind boggling; and then we open up the home page to a winter wonderland of music and snowflakes. You want me to suggest what else you could do???? I love Power Surge as it is. I love you Dearest as you are.”

Maniac: “Where would I be without Power Surge??? “

cookie: “Dearest, first of all let me thank you again for all your hard work, determination, support, and words of wisdom. How do you keep so much information in your head, it seems like I read it and then forget it. I have enjoy every aspect of the Power Surge site, guest transcripts to the message boards.  I don’t always get to the chats because of the time difference and by 10 o”clock my head is in bed. I guess for me Power Surge has made me aware that I am not alone in this journey and the vast amounts of information I receive here is cherished, the connection to other women on the same journey is so valuable to me right now. To have others reach out to me and on my good days I can reach out to them makes the journey not as scary as I first thought. What an accomplishment. Dearest, be proud… be very proud, for this site is truly a blessing.”

moozie: “Hi Dearest, I just read what you said to Valerie regarding depression/anxiety. If it wasn’t for you, Dearest, I would have gone mad. I will never ever forget what you have done for me, the talking the compassion, the patience. That is worth more than anything or anyone has ever given me. Thank you isn’t enough, but thank you.
Hugs, Moozie

Sundar: “Dear Dearest, It is you who are the most thoughtful. When I go to Power Surge, I can see how much thought and time that went into making Power Surge. The way everything is organized, making everything easily asseccible, information for whatever ails us right at our fingertips and just a click away, right down to the color scheme used, which by the way, is very soothing and easy on the eyes (I often have a hard time when reading things on the internet due to the glare of the screen and light colors used).

Sharing and compassion are priceless commodities that are oft times guarded in a miserly way, to be doled out sparingly. And with the internet available we find ourselves even having to pay for these things. “Get out your Credit Cards Ladies and Gentlemen, and buy your information and compassion right here for a very low price!” You are the one who has made it possible for others to look beyond themselves and to actually want to share. You have brought out the compassion, and empathy in each one of us.
Thank You, Dearest for your thoughtfulness. Sincerely,
Sundar”

Kareen: “Dearest, Your words of wisdom, as always, make me rejoice that there are people like you. Surfing Power Surge for some info on my Cholesterol problem, your wise refrain (which you have probably repeated a million times over the past decade!) for women to take ownership of their bodies, minds, and their lives in general, always inspires me to take another step toward wellness. Thanks for your continued support and GREAT web site. And yes, I’ve increased my R to one drink a day (in stead of half) and have quit my hormone therapy! We’ll see what the blood tests say in a month.
Blessings, Karreen

blessedblond (Judy): “Dearest, this place is a Godsend. I don’t know what I would have done if I hadn’t found you. I’m in the big middle of full blown menopause and everything just “HIT” me about 6 weeks ago. Totally knocked the props right out from under me. But I know that with the help and support from God and all of you wonderful women that “We” will make it through! Thank You!!! Judy.”

Marcy: I just discovered your site a few days ago and I have been reading and reading and reading. I have learned so much and emailed your site address to every women I know. cmpo: “Yes — Yes — Yes — what a wonderful site this is!!! It has helped me immeasurably and provided some calm in the midst of the peri storm. Knowledge for me is a very powerful tool. When I have been in the midst of palps, a racing heart, nausea and some of the other miserable things we all have gone through, I take great solace from the fact that others have lived through this just like me. And I look to those who have gone before or have found something that helps them get over a particular issue with some sanity and feelings of empowerment. I appreciate all of the posts and suggestions we have all given one another. We truly are a powerful and knowledegeable group! Chris”

Lassie: “There is no better medicine in the world then the assurance that you are not alone. That is what Power Surge has done for me. Words can not express what you do here means to me. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. Dee”

Joline: “Dearest,
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for all the wonderful work you’ve done with this site. You have made going through these trying times easier to cope and have brought together the most wonderful group of women. Without power-surge I never would’ve met many of you, I am so grateful to know you all and to share our journeys through menopause, it makes lifes a little easier and more pleasant to be able to share. Power-Surge is the best, keep up the great work!!! Thanks again for all your hard work. Power-Surge has been such a positive influence in how I am handling menopause. I don’t know how you find the time to do this on your busy schedule. You truly are a special person and don’t ever forget that. Keep up the great work Dearest, you are vey much appreciated!!”

Bev: “Thanks for your help and patience in this matter, it is very much appreciated! Thanks also for the great work you do and the “personal touch” that you give so endlessly to us all! If there was some way I could ‘vote’ for your site — I’d be the first in line! Have a wonderful day! Thanks again for everything”

Yankeegal: “Hi Dearest and Other Friends, I first found Power Surge in 2001, and although I found it interesting, it didn’t really pertain to me… yet. Over the past couple of months though, my body has been changing and I’ve come back to Power Surge again and again. Not only is there a vast amount of information from the professionals, but there is a delightful group of supportive, friendly women! When I’ve needed information or a shoulder to lean on, someone’s always responded with just what I needed, and I hope I’ve done the same for others.

I would have to say that my favorite part is the Message Boards because it seems that whatever my concern, someone has already dealt with it, and is there to enlighten me. As far as suggestions. HOW can one improve upon the wheel? All joking aside, I can’t, at the moment, think of one thing that is missing from this site. But if I do, I promise I’ll share! Thank you Dearest, and everyone, for making this such an informative, friendly, wonderful site!”

Susan: ” Your website has been most helpful! Keep up the wonderful work you’re doing!!! : )”

Stephanie: “Dearest,

I will try to keep this as short as possible. I have only been a member for a very short time. I have found Power Surge can make me laugh, cry, think positively (sometimes) and I am slowly making some good friends.

I am, at the moment crying my eyes out. I just can’t believe your deep understanding from reading just one e-mail from me.

You don’t know me, yet you seem to. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Nita: “Thank you for the book, for having the author in our Power Surge Chatroom and for your continued friendship. YOU have truly surged forward with Menopause. The Website is one of the best if not the best on the Internet. You are a very bright and caring woman. You have much to be proud of with your Menopause adventure. You have put so much of what is “you” in it.
Take care and be well dear friend,
Nita”

darling: “I am so excited to have found this site. You have really outdone yourself. For you to take on this site and all the others involved it is like a big present under the Christmas tree. Thank you so very much. The Lord Jesus richly bless all of you!!!

LindaZ: “Power-Surge.com is a great website for women going through menopause. I’ve learned much reading as many different things as I can on the site. I thank you for all your hard work in researching the topics so important to women going through this tough phase of our lives. Just knowing one is not alone is a great help.
Thank you again,
Linda “

Christine: “Hi, from London England!! Thank God for Power Surge!!”

Barbara: “Dearest, The information in Power Surge is very, very good and easy to read than some of the books on different subjects. There is not a topic that doesn’t effect something about what you experience during this time in your life. To me everything you give is perfect. It is up to the individual to heed the warning of your body, because it will tell you whats wrong.
For this valuable information on Power Surge, I am deeply grateful:) Thank you.”

Sally: “Thank you! thank you! thank you!”

Debi Brasie: “I am just starting to go through menopause (actually about 7 months now). I was just placed on bio-identical compounds a month ago and already I feel a difference. Of course, much of the difference is the education I have received about my condition. I am a student in college and am doing a research paper on menopause and came across your website. Very Informative! Kudos to you for a wonderful educational tool!”

Wombat1071: “Thanks, Dearest! You run a phenomenal website!!”

Debra Simmons: “I am so grateful that I found your site. This is the first time I’ve read information that describes so accurately what I’ve been going through with the hot flashes, chills, insomnia, night sweats, depression.

anise: “Hello, Dearest,
I found your site just yesterday evening. It was a great relief.
Regards, anise”

aprillv68: “Dearest, thank you from the bottom of my heart for this wonderful website you created. I have made some friends and hopefully will continue to make new ones. It’s so nice to know that, as my husband says, I am not alone in this journey through the beginning of ‘midlife’ (my gosh i never imagined being there this soon!) I must admit, in a nutshell, i call this a “Test” a test of my sanity, my tolorences, my emotional, physical & all around stability. I am here every day, if even for a few minutes. It’s become my second ‘Home'”

brassedoff: “Dearest. Thank you seems so inadequate, but thats all I can say. Words are not enough. If you come to Australia let me know, because I would like to show you how grateful I am. This site has given me hope and reassurance. It has kept me sane when I was sure I wasn’t. Keep up the good work. Hugs and kisses to you and everyone who visits this site.”

Krista: To Wonderful Dearest,

I want to express my great respect and admiration for you. You are providing such a tremendous resource to enable women (and men) to better understand and cope with this transition. I really appreciate the insights and info you have shared about various symptoms on the boards and have found all of your posts to be very reassuring and helpful. In addition, your excellent writing ability makes them a pleasure to read.

Love, Krista

Pamela42: “Before an introduction I must let those at Power Surge, its founders AND participants, know how deeply grateful I am for their efforts on behalf of all of us. It was like finding the Answer Angel when I had questions about so many aspects of this “condition.”

The effects of menopause are new to me. I’m 62 and had a total hysterectomy about 20 years ago. Since then I’ve taken Premarin until February, when I simply could no longer afford it, so, not having any health insurance, went cold turkey. The hot flashes have been driving me nuts! I’m waaaay to old for this nonsense! But it’s happening, and I’ve found such useful information on natural ways to deal with them thanks to many posts here. Thank you! Thank you!

Light, Love and Huggies to all! Pamela”

copingcapers: “Dearest,

Thanks so much for this wonderful site! I’m from down under (Australia). I have 2 teenagers and am a full time primary teacher. This site has provided me with courage, strength and sanity to go on coping with all the unknowns of this journey. I can’t wait to have some contact with others thru this site. My main problems are insomnia, panic attacks and anxiety amongst many other things! Blessings to you and all those willing to share their lives on this site.”

pmeans3: “Very informative site. Keep up the good work!”

Libbett: “Hello Dearest!
This is by far the best Web site I have encountered that really tackles all issues of menopause. Instead of feeling like I was crazy for having constant fatigue, I’ve found some soulmates who are having the same problem. It feels so good to be able to talk with them and share ideas. This site is a godsend!! Thanks for all you do!!!
Libbett”

cleverendeaver: “”I was having a bad day and a good cry when I ran across this site. Just the name of this site made me smile! I HAD to look inside! I will definitely be visiting often and telling my friends about it! Thank you Power-Surge!”

Jennifer: “I truly enjoy your transcripts. Every one has good information and presents it in a positive manner. Great work!”

Dozier: “Thanks so much, and bless you for creating PowerSurge!! Best, Dozier”

Lilupar: “I am 43-yrs. old, I’ve experienced many (manageable) menopausal symptoms for several years. I came to this website while searching for information on loss of libido. This is the only symptom that truly distresses me. Thank you for the article that suggests herbal alternatives. This is eactly what I was looking for.”

Luau: Luau,

I have only been visiting your website for a short while, however I find it to be already informative and very helpful. Thank You for giving all the “natural and “surgical menopausal women a way to trasition themselves into what is normally a “diffucult period in a woman’s life. God Bless You, Dearest!

sweetface: “Boy, O boy, where do I start. I guess I’ll start by saying thank you Dearest for Power Surge. I just love coming to these boards and viewing everyone’s posts….I have been helped so much by Power Surge. I applaud you Dearest for these boards and the many women that have come to these boards. I just want to say thank you Dearest and all you great Women that have helped me when I needed it so much. I hope that in some way I have helped others too. I try and answer as many posts as I can even if it don’t pertain to me. Many many thanks Dearest and Ladies”

Thi: “Dearest – No word can describe my appreciation to you for transferring your knowledge and wisdom, for creating a warm, invaluable, trustful, educational environment for us in this difficult period of life.

I have visited many websites with similar subject area as Power-Surge, but the Dearest Power-Surge site is the only one that I can truly rely on for excellent information, warm supports and many many other things … and this shows everywhere on Power-Surge … through the presentation, structure … words…

We are blessed to have you. All the best Dearest”

Theresa: “Dearest,

You are one of a kind! A gift from God to us perimenopausal women. Every time I read one of your messages it brings calm to my body and a sense of hope and relief.

Everything I have learned on Power Surge has been helping me so much. I am by no means perfect – I still rotate on a regular basis from anxious – tired – crying – but I am getting better at accepting this as part of life. NHRT, R, CBT and Power Surge are my survival tools right now!!!

Thank you Alice from the bottom of my heart. I look forward to the day I will feel normal and will not need Power Surge!

Theresa”

ygirl: “I have been spending some time making sure that gals I know are aware of this resource. Today I received the following email:

‘Thanks for the website. I have been going through major menopause problems since 1995 when my periods started skipping every other month. You name the symptom, I probably have had it. I had my first major panic attack when I 911’nd that Spring. I have run the gamut from traditional medicine to alternative medicine where I got the most relief. The panic attack article is excellent. I knew my breathing was the problem. But, this is the first time I have found anything that teaches you how to change your breathing problem.’

‘I have passed this on to a young friend in her early 40’s who is experiencing continuous bleeding. Her “idiot” doctor told her a lot of women go through this and put her on birth control pills that stop her bleeding and periods all together. I told her to find another doctor. I have forwarded her the info from the website.’

Here is my suggestion friends. I estimate there are hundreds of thousands of women going through menopausal symptoms that have no idea this website exists. Why not take a moment and send them a note. The above came from someone I barely know and I never had any idea she would be so forthcoming. However, in doing so she has helped others.”

40something: Dearest thank you for all of your hard work. You have helped me so much by creating this wonderful site and caring community of women. I really have not found true support from my regular MDs. But this website has been wonderful. Love B Pharmacy and Ask the Experts, Transcripts, Message Boards…everything is great

I truly thank GOD that I found you. Sandy”

Boone: “This site is truly a life saver. I have learned so much from this site. It has helped me to help myself and others.

I think that this website is the beginning of the solution of this hormone nightmare. I think all of us hormonal females are becoming more educated and are speaking out to our doctors and other health care people. They can’t ignore us forever. They are being forced to look harder for solutions to our problems.

Thanks Dearest – you are a true gift from God.”

Sunlynn: “I have been posting on the boards for about 2.5 MONTHS. I feel like I have been posting on the boards for 2.5 YEARS. That’s how welcome I feel. When I first joined AOL about 2.5 years ago, I remember it mentioned a women’s site that you could check out. I am not sure why I did not check it out more often but I just now realized that because I was not really aware that the changes I was going through, ie: increased times of anxiety, dizziness, anger at my family for not being more self-sufficient, feeling the need to “connect more with women my age and older” etc. were even going on. I have since recommended POWER SURGE to many women knowing that THIS site is a more sensitve site. It was a Saturday night and I really needed something extra special to happen in my life. If you wait it WILL come. There was a missing link to help me deal with the ever changing things my life/body was going through. When I clicked onto to Dearest’s INTRO, I practically cried. I just kept repeating, WOW….WoW…thank you to the powers that be that always come through when you most need it and I was ready to accept it. It help put so many things in perspective and as so many of us have said “I am not crazy”. Everything from these message boards to the pluther of info. on the HOME page is so wonderful and inspirational.

So, “How are we doing”? I give you a 10 **********
An A+
A HIGH 5
A shake of the hand
Hats off to you
A nod
A smile
A thumbs up — 2 thumbs up
A wink, A hug
Sorry, can’t think of any negatives”

Kalanie: “I thank God every day that I found Power Surge. I first found it about 3 years ago, and hung around a bit until my denial took hold of me. As the denial got more and more difficult to keep intact because of increasing symptoms, I found my way back here in this past year.

Power Surge has helped me to learn so much about the transition of menopause… from my night sweats, to natural bio-identicals, to R, to other supplements/vitamins that have all made this peri experience much easier for me to handle. Now that I am facing some uterine problems, I have also found alot of information and support here from many women on the message boards.

Thank you for this site, Dearest, and thanks to all of the women here for the help they have given me. “

cwebster: “Dear Dearest; This site is a godsend! I have been able to find so many things that pertain to my own experience. It is comforting to know that what I am experiencing is the same thing that many other are and I most likely am not going to die. This is one site where you can actually find answers and that’s rare even on the internet. You’re doing great!!!”

nansea: “This website is a Godsend. There is nothing “normal” about menopause but visiting your website allays my fears and worries, and helps me feel normal. It’s comforting to read about other women experiencing the same things I am. God bless you, Dearest, for creating such a help and hope for women at this stage of life.”

SylvryMoon: “Dearest, I first found this website in June, and every day I feel blessed that you have created it for us. I feel free here to express my problems and concerns, and to try to help others through my own experiences. This site, and these boards, have been a haven and a home for me — they are the first place I look in the morning — it’s a great way to start my day!

Thank you so much for your loving support and guidance, and for the gift of these boards.”

Janel: “Dearest, If it weren’t for YOU and Power Surge I would be crazy by now. It took me a while to trust in what I was reading, Took me longer to trust in what everyone was saying.I am not very trusting, Ya Think? Then I made my first post and the angels came, I could not believe what was happening, All these woman reaching out to me, the shock really came when THE WOMAN reached for me. Yes it was you Dearest with your life raft and my life has never been the same.

After 8 years of HRT I am on my 2nd week of none. I feel wonderful, and I was soooo scared to stop my hormones. I have went through almost 4 years of hell, now it is as if a fog has lifted and I am human again. It took me 3 months to wean off and the help of my friends here and of course R. (MY husband is also hooked on R Never thought I would see the day)

I dont have a P.C., only web t.v. and cant seem to get into the chats. Have spent hours trying.I do read them all when they come out on transcripts.

As for what you can do better, Well woman to woman, HOW IS Dearest? I know this time can not be easy on you anymore than it is for us. I also know that you are a very private person, but you are human with feelings. Please if and when you need it, Know that we are ALL here for you. Please dont always try to be the brave one alone. We Love You Janel “

wildflowers: “Dearest, I first found powersurge in September. I was a “lurker” for a month. But in that month I read much of the front board and every single message in the boards — every subject. Then I finally posted. From the first post I felt welcomed, informed, enlightened and at times entertained (our pet section). As yet, I am in peri, so I don’t have all of the symptoms yet. But I am happy to know the ones I have and will have more than likely are “normal”..As you know me. I’m one to question most things. My questions here have always been answered, when doctors could not or would not address them. I have just started R, and I can already tell a difference. I have met some good friends here and it is a terrific place to come to, to post, to read, to listen. I don’t feel any improvement is needed. Also the chats formal as well as informal are just wonderful. “

HippieHeron: “I can’t thank you enough, Dearest, for Power Surge!

When I first found Power Surge on the search engine last summer, I, of course, entered thru the introduction. And that introduction is so hopeful! That little lady in the spotlight was saying all of the same things that I had been upset about for over a year and when I went on to the “We are Family” pictures, my hope kept growing. Every comment by the pictures stated that the woman did not feel alone anymore and that was what I wanted: to not feel alone and not be made to feel like I was going crazy with these symptoms.

My first question at the message boards was about internal shaking. I was not experiencing it at the time but I did have it about a year earlier and it accompanied the first time I skipped my period for several months. I knew it had to be a meno symptom but no one else had ever heard of internal shaking. Of course my doctor never heard of it, but it wasn’t mentioned in books either and I could not find many women who were willing to talk about meno. It still bothered me because I wanted to know what it was. I was afraid it would come back someday. I was so relieved to find that other women were experiencing it too. Also the itchy feeling (I think its called formication?) was bothering me alot at about the same time and it worried me. But I got the answers here at Power Surge and it has been such a relief!

The best parts about Power Surge are the message boards because that is where we can all talk to each other about our meno experiences. This is what relieves the lonely feeling. Dearest, you and all the other women here at Power Surge are so caring and helpful, I don’t know how I managed without you! I consider all of you to be my very good friends. The chats and guest transcripts are also helpful. The anxiety and panic transcripts especially because there is a lot of comforting advice and information in them.

Thank you again, Dearest. Power Surge is great! A real blessing!”

brownie: “I would like to say that this Board, Dearest and all of my meno-sisters have been a God-send to me! I don’t know where I would be without you all!! Thank you for an excellent format and for answering my questions in an intelligent, thorough and comprehensive manner. I check with this Board before I talk to my doctors.

As you can tell from the growing number of members, a lot of women (and men) are realizing the usefulness of Power Surge.

Please keep up the good work!! “

NancyV: “Hello,

I think the site is so well done in its format which is easy to use and the topics are varied enough and keep changing which meets the needs of people with varied interests. I think it is fun to see the birthdays and inspirational topics, even dreams in addition to the very important topics of the hot flashes and all the physical things that go with menopause.

Because of Power Surge, women can compare notes with each other and be emotionally supportive as well. With what we learn here, we can go to our doctors and ask intelligent and informed questions and even know if we need to change doctors to meet our needs.

I read the guest transcripts from time to time and can’t believe all the good info. I read Dr. Lendon Smith’s recently about the sense of smell which I thought interesting. There are so many good experts available to us here in transcripts and chats that makes me think this is the gold standard with information for women’s health. I don’t know how it can be improved because it is obvious that you Dearest put a lot of time in keeping it clear and easy to read and fun and informative. You have such a sense of humor too which makes it fun also.

I’d say A+….thank you for your continued commitment to this! “

EileenG: “Hi Dearest,

It’s been almost a year since I got my computer (learned to surf the web) and discovered Power-Surge. I was told at the same time I was menopausal (post). The site has been a God-send to me! I especially was grateful to all the women who welcomed me. Some who have moved on and don’t post anymore. I will always feel blessed to have had them in my life during this very intense and confusing time.

As for suggestions? I can’t think of any. You are always 10 steps of us on anticipating what we might need or want. Thank-you for all the hard work and for caring about us so much! “

marsun: “Dearest,

This treck in my life was very scary. I was experiencing symptoms that were sometimes very overwhelming, and I felt so alone. Just hearing that so many of you ladies can relate to what I’m going through has given me my life back. I’m not so afraid anymore and the symptoms have dissapated a lot. Thank you so very much for helping me the way you have. I just hope that more women who are going through this phase, know they are not alone and take advantage of this website. You are truly God sent!!!!!! Marsun “

Carol S from PA: “Dearest: I feel that finding this site was the answer to my prayers. The reputable information on this site is incredible, and your personal, genuine concern for women on this site is above and beyond anything I would expect.

How is this site doing? I can’t see where it could possibly be improved. All we need is for people like me, and any other women who visit the boards, to do so faithfully. The information that you post is always welcome, as well as the reputable and informative guest chats you have.

You should be very proud of your accomplishments and how much you have helped others. You have done a great job.”

Suzie: “Hi Dearest, I want to let you know I really felt as though I was going off the deep end more than once, and after checking in on power surge, I didn’t feel so alone. I absolutely love the transcripts and have recently ordered books from some of your guests. I also feel alot of warmth and caring from all the ladies on the message boards.

Thank-you all!
Love,
Suzie “

boni: “When I found Power-Surge back in Aug 2001 I was a mess. I had gone to Doctor to doctor, been on the patches, pill, injections, herbs, everything. Nothing worked. I felt like I had hit the bottom of dispear.

Thanks to Dearest, she educated me on “R.” I am now on my third month and will continue forever, but most of all she turned me on to “Pete” at B Pharmacy.

I found a Doctor that was all for Natural Compound hormones, after talking with Pete about my life style, as I am a endurance athelete pushing my body every day. I found that taking hormones once a day was not cutting it, I was completly depleted by mid day. The doctors would not listen to my needs and I was a mess. Pete and my wonderful new doctor decieded that I need hormones 4x daily, sub-lingual plus DHEA as my level was almost zero, along with Trans-D tropin. It has been 2 weeks now and I am back to “Normal”. The anxiety, panic attacks, depression, insomina and the other symtoms have gone. My body is totally focused. Taking that hormone sub-lingual is like getting an injection, within a few seconds it’s in my body.

Thank you Dearest with out “Power Surge” I hate to think where I would be now.. I hope that others will look into all the resources available and use them.

Thank You again.”

Darlene: “I just want to thank you for your fantastic website. Power Surge has been a life saver for me. Being able to “meet” so many other women who are experiencing the same rotten perimeno symptoms has made me feel much less isolated and CRAZY! I have been reading and posting on the message boards on a fairly regular basis, and lots of times they are the only thing that gets me through the day!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

MichelleD: “Just dropping a note to remind Dearest how much I love these boards. I am feeling alot better than I did almost 3 yrs ago (is it really that long) when I logged on for the first time after going from dr to dr to fnd out what could be wrong with me. Powersurge saved my sanity and my health and got me through some pretty dark days. I still check in on an almost daily basis because there is always something new to learn and I like to now help others who might find themselves where I was 3 years ago. We need these boards here forever. Thanks Dearest. “

seeker: “Don’t know if thank you is enough, I am so grateful to have found Power Surge. Now I know I am not losing my mind. It’s such an awful thought to think there are so many women out there with all the same symptoms that I have. But it is also so wonderful to know that I am not alone and not going crazy. Thank you for being here with all this information to help make this trek just a little easier.

Peggy ”

Blueschick: “Dearest — You’re doing great! Finding Power Surge last year was like finding the Mother Lode of Menopause information. When I first found the site, I was experiencing uncomfortable symptoms that I had no idea were related to perimenopause. In the last few months, things have accelerated quickly to where I am definitely in full-blown perimenopause with all the lovely “perks” such as night sweats, hot flashes in the day, etc.

I have finally gotten relief from a naturally compounded estrogen/progesterone prescription. Without Power Surge, I would never have known that this option was available. While the strength of the prescription might still need some tweaking, the overall sense of well-being I have gotten (with no side effects) from this form of HRT has been wonderful. The message boards are a great resource and a good place to go for reassurance and comraderie. Having transcripts from the enormous list of experts is like having a personal Meno library in which to browse.

I am a freelance writer who is working on a story for my local daily paper about Menopause today. You can be assured that the web address for Power Surge will be listed somewhere in the article.

Keep up the good work! “

billiegail: “I would echo everyone else too. I really like this site alot. You have done a great job! This site covers everything we go through as women. The site is just so full of posts. There are pages and pages of replies. I have been reading and reading and reading. I am getting a free education! I love to read so this is great. There is still so much to learn. Thanks for a great place to visit and be educated. Everyone here is great! “

Wordgirl: “Honestly, there is nothing on the Internet that c-o-m-p-a-r-e-s with PowerSurge. The information offered here is enormous (and the format is really easy to navigate) and the support is fantastic. I only wish I could tell every peri and menopausal woman on the planet about it–it could alleviate so much suffering. I think women are so short-changed by their doctors and the media by being given such narrow choices. I sometimes feel guilty that I’ve benefited from PS while others are in the dark on so many health issues.

Long live Dearest and PowerSurge! “

tinabrul: “To Dearest and all my friends,

I love Power Surge. I have posted on other message boards before and NEVER felt the ‘community’ that I feel here. The acceptance, compassion, understanding and replys to my messages, etc. has never been so ‘real’ before. I guess it’s because we are all mature women, (even though many times I feel like a frightened little girl – there is a certain ‘seasoning’ that comes with age) in the same boat on these rough waters together. From a technical point of view, the boards are EASY to navigate, and very well designed. The home page and information pages are full of material to read and become educated in perimenopause and menopause as well as women’s issues.

I am so grateful to Power Surge and Dearest and anyone and everyone else who makes this board feel like having tea with a good friend. I wish we all lived in the same neighborhood sometimes, but there is great comfort that someone on the opposite side of our country (or world) is thinking about me and caring.

Thank you and God Bless you. tinabrul “

heyvern: “This site has been my life line the past few weeks since I found it. I’ve gotten invaluable information but more than that, support and so much caring from everyone. It doesn’t matter what any given day has dealt me, there’s someone who’s experienced it and is more than willing to help. I appreciate what you’ve done here so much. Thank you.”

Flossie: “This is an excellent site, well run and moderated, and a lifeline for baffled meno babes! It is easy to navigate, tidy, and fun to use. Many of the sites I visit are difficult to view, poorly run and confusing – but not Power Surge.

Congratulations.”

Susan: “I cant believe that it’s been months now since I found your site. It was exactly what I was looking for and needed. You cant know how much information that I’ve learned. How I feel like I’m part of this family I know that by creating this site that you have helped so many baffled and scared women. You have been an answer to prayers. Thanks. Love Susan.”

Suz: “I just found this site a couple of days ago and have spent more time reading through the current and past posts, transcripts etc that I have neglected the other things I should be doing but the information I have taken in is invaluable to me. Even after only these few days my outlook and attitute has changed for the better.

I have not bothered to look for or at any other sites as I feel this one covers all the questions I have or will have in the future. It is a place where I know I can go to if something new or unusual shows up and get either answers or at least understanding.. Thank you Warm regards “

PatC: “Since I first heard about this site in January, I am still amazed about the amount of information and the dedication of women that made me feel personally welcome into this community.

With the huge volume of useful information, power-surge is still easy to navigate. Just one of the items I found was a lab that does hormone testing. This site is extremely well organized.

I also like sharing and learning about midlife experiences with so many others like me in the message board. I find myself looking forward to the Thursday evening chats. I think most of all, I like knowing I’m not alone.”

Wilma: “When I signed up on this web site in Dec. 2001, there were approximately 3400 members. Today, there are over 19000. That is amazing, not to mention all the information. When I start feeling kinda low, I simply log on and read, and then I don’t feel so alone with all the symptoms. However, I feel the symptoms are slowly disappearing with the use of R, being a user since Jan. 30, I can truly tell the difference, and am slowly tapering off HRT. I hope to be completely off the HRT when I get my physical this spring. Thanks for all the info. and support!”

Kate: “Dearest, Power Surge has truly been a safe harbor for me during this tumultuous (meno) journey! The information has been invaluable and the comraderie, support and kindness across the boards is awesome. I am so proud to be a member of this community which you have so generously provided for all the women of the world! Thank you so very much!”

Pam: “Dear Dearest
I just joined your site last week and already I am finding it to be very very helpful. I am 50 years old and in the past year have had only 2 periods, but lots of different symptoms. Lately I feel like all I do is go to the doctor for one problem or another and they don’t find anything wrong. Just reading many of the posts makes me feel better that while my symptoms are very real, they are also shared by others and I’m not turning into a hypochondriac!!

Thanks for being there. “

Lesley: “I am very new to Power Surge and have been amazed at how much information there is to absorb, It certainly has been a god send for myself and I must say my poor family.

I have been going crazy with worry and wonder for the past few years with no positive answers or compassion from my Dr. as to my fears. Also I have been driving my family crazy with my up’s and down’s.

Now that I have found this site and read and see that I am not going crazy or have some dread disease I am able to relax a little about what is happening. Just knowing makes a person feel so much better and with the amount of caring, loving people here along with the wealth of information that is available is just what a woman needs.

I am so thankful to have found Power Surge and all the wonderful caring people here. “

Wildflowers: “Many of you already know how I feel about Power-Surge. I think it is a remarkable site!…I have found so much valuable information about all stages of womens lives..and more. Power-Surge is/has been a “life-saver” for me and I know many others, an invaluable assest to me, as well as others. I can’t think that there could ever be any improvement needed.

Power-Surge has enabled me to understand so much of what is going on now and the past and the future”

ColoradoWoman: “Thank you for providing a section where we could all say a hugh THANK YOU! The best thing about Power Surge is that there is no judgement. Each of us are experiencing menopause differently and the caring that everyone shows is SO important to our surviving this. I have learned more there than I ever have from my doctors and feel like I have a family of women who listen and aren’t afraid to share their feelings. If no one else in your life will listen, come here….we all will. Good job maintaining this board, Dearest. We all owe you our thanks and a hardy “you go girl”!!

fireonthemtn: “Dearest and all the great power surge posters. Thank you so much for what must be a job and a half! This site should get a Nobel Peace Prize!!! 🙂 Not only have I made some good internet friends, but these are people who respond with grace and kindness and humor … who always make me feel so happy to be a woman at this stage of life! This site is a joy. Period! I hope it lasts forever. Anytime I need advice I look for the approriate subjects and start reading, my only problem is that there are SO MANY!!!! I’m sure I have missed a few. Thank you again.. You are amazing. What a great idea and thank you to all the people who give advice and share stories and are such good listeners and responders!!!! I love flying in and just resting for awhile on the big shoulders offered here.”

Hopefloats: “Hi Dearest. I am pretty new here and already I am VERY excited about Power Surge!!! I am enjoying finding my way around and there is just so much information here, that I am thrilled. From what I have experience so far, I would like to say this is the absolute best site yet, and I will be passing it on to my women friends!! I find the site not only informative, but there is a real kinship here too. I am just counting this as another blessing in my life!!! Best wishes for continued success!!!

Sincerly,
Deborah.”

debrikkia: “I just realized that I haven’t yet written my words of praise for this wonderful site. Although I’ve been visiting Power Surge for many years, I’ve just recently begun to “take part” in this wonderful community of caring, wise, humorous women. I visit this site daily, and ALWAYS find something that helps make my day better. When anxiety starts to get a hold of me, I come here and absorb myself in these message boards. It has helped when nothing else did. I honestly do not believe that there is another site out there, that is SO well organized, nor one that has the unlimited sources of information and offers of comfort, than Power Surge does. Dearest, thank you so much for following your heart and making this possible for the rest of us. And, to all you PS sisters — thank you for always being there with words of comfort and genuine concern.

Power Surge Rocks! :)”

June Swederofsky: “Through Power Surge I heard of the different symptoms of menopause. Just recently I looked at the board about bleeding because I started again then stopped. As I did I learned I’m not the only one skipping periods and having to start all over.”

sissyq2: “Honestly, If it weren’t for Power Surge.. I would have no idea what was happening to me? I would still be thinking I was going crazy.

Thank you Dearest, for caring enough to create Power Surge. Even though the symptoms of Meno still stinks! The support of these message boards makes life a little easier!”

nel: “Dearest, I appreciate your Power Surge web site so much. I happened to come across it recently while doing a search on a strange physical phenomenon that was happening to me (one of many), and this site popped up! I’m new here, and getting the hang of it all, it seems. It’s so comforting to know there are others who really understand what I’m feeling. The other women here are so friendly and helpful – they’re the kind of people I’d seek out as friends. Everyone treats each there with kindness and respect. I plan to continue posting, time allowing, as new problems continually seem to crop up at this stage of life! The information I receive here is invaluable, and way more informative than any info I receive at the doctor’s office. I can’t think of a thing you should do differently, so can’t offer anything there.”

kea4: “Dearest,
First of all I would like to expess my gratitude for this wonderful sight. It is truely a gift from God. I was wondering if a topic on mid-life career changes could be started. I know that menopause totally changes women’s lives and therefore a lot of women become more creative and less consumed with ambition. I am in the throes of wanting to be free of my job to have more time and ENERGY to allow my creativity to flow and yet the MONEY… I would love to hear how other women have had the courage to find and pursue their unique gifts at mid-life.

Thanks.
Kathy

jennyp: “Thanks for all the info! I was really out of control two months ago, and feeling like I was literally “falling apart”. I had lost all sense of control of my body—> my life. With the help of some of the linked articles, especially on nutrition and supplements, reading recommended authors, and e-mailing the expert pharmacist, I now have gotten it back together. I have passed some of the knowledge I gained along to colleagues, who are also in the same place. Thanks much for the valuable info and the opportunity to share and learn form each other!”

dejavu: “Dearest Dearest,
I come to Power Surge about a year ago. I was desperate for answers , the tears , the fears were overwhelming. I was suffering from the unknown until I had the chance to talk to others that were experiencing the same things..and through their understandings I was able to cope. I was found to have to little estrogen and had that adjusted and was ok for a time.. then had to adjust them higher again and once again here I am (although Month Later) experiencing more symtoms.. needless to say this site has helped me in so many ways.. I am ever so thankful for all you here.

My best to you all …
~ Hugs and more hugs ~
Dejavu”

jomama: “Dearest,

I just found this board a month ago and it has already made me feel better just knowing im not alone. I have tried other the sites but this is the best and friendliest. I had alot of anxiety and other symptoms.Anxiety gets to me I come here and just reading seems to calm me knowing others have the same things.

Thanks for being here it has been a life saver for me.”

maxie bryant: “Hi Dearest,

Just wanted to say Thank You for your recommendation to use R and to let you know I’m doing better. I have not completely gotten rid of my menopausal symptoms but I am doing much better than six months ago. Coming to this site is God Sent.

Once again Thank You for your support and understanding heart. May God Bless you”

Miranda: “I am very new to Power Surge. I haven’t really had a chance to look around much. I recently left a community. It started as a positive experience but ended up being the biggest mistake I had ever made. I have a lot of trust issues, not to mention panic disorder. I hope in time I will find a place I am comfortable speaking in. It would be nice to get positive support. I look forward to viewing the site!”

Lelani: “I am new to this website but so very glad I found it. After a year of frequent bladder infections at age 38-39, followed by night sweats, hot flashes, anxiety, etc., I thought I was losing my mind! My husband thought I was crazy when I mentioned perimenopause and said I was too young! After viewing some of the messages, I know I am not too young, and I am not crazy! Thank you very much!”

Gemini: “I discovered this site last October, but rarely used it until recently. Now I am ‘hooked’ on it, getting to know the personalities on here, and learning a lot. It is so good to have somewhere to come where someone else will know what you are going through and how you are feeling. I am only starting out on this journey really, and am glad that I found Power Surge at this stage. I like the fact that you can talk about anything here. Any topic whatsoever to do with the menopause, and any topic NOT related – pets, English/Amercian words etc!! 😉

People have mentioned the chat sessions, and how they are helpful in getting to know each other. I haven’t been to any yet, I can only manage the lunch time or 6 pm ones due to the time difference, but fully intend to make it to those some time soon.

Thank you Dearest for the wonderful idea, and to all you other lovely ladies for your input :)”

nkk: “I first found power-surge.com nearly 2 years ago. Not knowing much about menopause, I took the little quiz on the first page that tells whether you might be in peri or not. Actually, it was from here that I first heard the term perimenopause. I remember thinking then how well done the site was, but I just didn’t think it was for me — I wasn’t going to have any more problems than the few I was having! Not me — I’m vegetarian, healthy, feel younger than my age. Well, I was wrong — more symptoms crept up on me  and I came back. I wish I’d never left in the first place!

What can I say, Dearest? This place is just spectacular. You have created something so perfect for us that I can’t put it into words. And technically, wow — I’m truly impressed with what you’ve done. I know just a little about web design, but enough to know that power-surge is top-notch. Yes, you done good, girl! Thank you. And another thank you to all of the friends I have made on the boards. I have just been posting for a couple of weeks, but you have welcomed me into your midst and made me just one of the gang. I haven’t felt this kind of warmth and caring in a long time. :)”

athenea: “I’ve learned so much here since I first signed on – not just meno topics, lots of other things too – I don’t think I was very good at listening to others before I came here, I feel like I learned how to do that here and how to share.

I think I started to like myself more – understand myself more and take advantage of the aspects of my character and personality which may have been subdued due to meno stuff and not knowing how to handle the emotional transition involved in all this.

Thanks to my super friends and all you great girls here – it’s just so spontaneous no matter how small the problem or doubt I wish I had more time, just lately but the type of work I do doesn’t give me much chance to be here quite as regularly as before – I try to not because it’s any obligation – it’s ‘cos I want to be here – it’s uplifting and it’s like no other place on the web. I wonder why I feel like when I’m here, I’m not online – using internet, I feel like I’m drinking coffee with friends in a comfortable lounge – where I can be just me – This is friendship, therapy, practical help and so much great stuff – all rolled into one – there aren’t many places where you can get a package deal like this.

Thanks, Dearest, again and again, this place reflects you so much. It’s good, it’s open – it’s warm it’s intelligent – and it gets better every day!!!!

stormy198: “I’m new here and just beginning to find my way around, however, so far so great. Glad I found you ( and hope you get better!)

Lynn”

raeh: “Dearest,

You have done a very helpful thing for women with power surge. I have told many, many people about power surge. I have learned about symptoms that I have never heard of before. I have seen how women can be supportive of each other here. It is a great place to go when going to power surge!!!”

Terre: “I am just so grateful for this site & all the sisters that are here as well as the staff. Whatever you may do try to educate your daughters with all the information you collect here. I have to say I was scared to hell, till I knew I was no different than others. I actually feel so much better. I have good days and rough days. But it has been so much easier with all the support from the staff & sisters I have come to call my family. Power Surge. God Bless. Terre.”

HippieHeron: “I just realized that today is my anniversary – 1 year since I found and joined Power Surge. To celebrate, I just want to again say “Thank You, Dearest!” Thank you for providing us with this website. It is great! It has really made a difference in my life and has filled a great need in my life for other women who I can talk to about these uncomfortable, scary and embarrassing things that meno has done. Talking to all of you here has greatly helped me and thanks to you, Dearest, and some of the expert’s advice from the chat transcripts, I no longer have the intense anxiety and shaking that I used to have. Instead I have quite a lot more self confidence! :cheesy: (and no more hot flashes! lol ) Again, thank you very much! :)”

athenea: “Happy Anniversary Ruthie! and I’m so happy for you that you feel good in so many ways. Can’t deny it, this place helps bigtime! Kisses, Barbie”

Cabo: “HippieHeron,

Happy Anniversary to you. I must remember mine next March. This wonderful place we have is a gift. We get to know one another and help and be helped. How great this is. Good luck to you Hippie.
Peace Cabo”

Kleeo: “Boy, how Power Surge has helped me? When I first entered the good ole PERI stages, 2 years ago, Power Surge was there, right along with Dearest and MaryO and my other fine friends, to help keep me sane. Without this amazing retreat, I know I would have gone completely crazy. Dearest and her Power Surge website are what the internet should be: Resourceful, Informative…..NOT to mention caring, friendly and soothing.
Love and HUGGERS! Kleeo”

teachtoo: “Dear Dearest, I found out about you quite by accident. I was reading posts from the Weight Watcher board and this site was mentioned in a response. At that time I had been on my period for 10 days. I had not been to the doctor yet. Thanks to this board, I became an informed woman almost overnight. Not only was I comforted by reading about others in the same situation, but I immediately ordered two books recommended here. (Dr. Lee and Dr. Corio) Without the boards and the books, I would have blindly taken the HRT the GYN gave me. After bleeding for 17 days, I had a mini D&C. He tried to give me Prempro to regulate the period. I refused it. He still ended up giving me a synthetic estrogen and Prometrium. The estrogen gave me headaches and after taking it for two days, I stopped, ordered some progestorone cream and have been using that. That was last month. I am on my period now. So far it is normal; I just pray it will stop. Anyway, without this board, I shudder to think how I would be doing at this point. I am 49 and I know, thanks to this board, that I can get through this period of my life. I am informed now and have a much better understanding of what my body is going through and what I can do to help myself without completely relying on the Gyn whose only solution is to give out HRT at the first sign of irregular bleeding. My hormone levels were never tested. Why give estrogen to a woman who has been bleeding for 17 days without first checking? I am experiencing so many of the problems other women are having. It’s so nice to know that this is a part of peri and not some dreaded disease. Again, without this site, I would have gone crazy trying to figure out what was wrong with me.”

HSpec: “This marks my first year anniversary as a member of the best web site ever.

Dearest, thank you so much for power surge. I just know that I would not have survived this year without you and power surge. The love and support I have found here is just amazing. Not only do I now have a better understanding of perimenopause and menopause, I have also found friendship, compassion and support for all of the aspects of my life.

There is a big part of me that can’t believe that it is just a year since I discovered power surge. I feel like many of the women here, especially you, have been my friends forever. It is all just so wonderful.

So again, I say thank you.

Be safe and be well.
Hedda”

Cassandra: “Hello,

I have only been on board for about three weeks, and I can honestly say that the moment I read similar testimonials, I felt absolute relief! So if this is what I got in three weeks, I can’t wait for what will happen in the next few years.

Thank you for your insight and guts to get all this together for someone like me. Yes, I am taking it personally! And thank you to everyone who contributes.

Cassandra”

Wordgirl: “Dearest, have I told you lately that I love you?! As my symptoms worsen (skipping periods now, for the first time and often feel I’m nearing insanity) the thing that helps me the most is coming here and reading about everyone’s misfortunes! (Err, you know what I mean.) My ProGest and R still help, but what gets me through *emotionally* is the women here. Where would I be without it, I wonder?

At the health food store today, another women was looking at the menopausal-type supplements and we struck up a conversation. Well, of course I told her all about the website and Dearest. She was so thrilled! She wrote it down and was going home to check it out. I know she’ll love it.

So, how are we doing? This website has no equal.

Wordgirl”

missruth: “Hi Dearest, this is my first time responding on this site but wanted to tell you how I feel. Just found the site about 2 weeks ago but am very grateful that I did. I cried my eyes out when I finally read what others said they were going through which was exactly what I was feeling.

I feel that this site is answered prayer as I asked god for help. I thought I was going to die. The only problem I had for years was hot flashes but at the end of june 2002 I started having heart palpitions, panic attacks, tremors and digestion problems. With all of this starting at the same time you can imagine how afraid I was.

Your site is the best. Don’t know what I would have done (or would do) without it. Keep up with the good you do for all of us but relax also. Thanks so very very much.”

kellie: “I can’t tell you all how having this sight to come to, has helped me cope with what I experience in this part of my life. When I first started reading what you all go through I realized I wasn’t going crazy that I’m going through the change of life. All the goofy things that I do and feel and experience are just part of it. What a relief! This sight is a definet blessing in my life.”

tmil: “Well, I have to say this is just GREAT!!!! Finally there is a place for us to comfort each other, learn something new about our bodies, find an answer to a symptom emergency (you know when something else happens and you panic…Is this normal question??!!). I am thrilled to be a part of such a great group of gals. To Dearest…YOU GO GIRL!!!”

Cher224: “Dearest, you are doing just fine! I hardly miss a day reading posts and like you said “you have saved my sanity”, you have helped me through some very desperate and scary days and moments. I hope you are here for a long, long time. Since I am just in peri, I think I will be needing you for awhile. Thanks for being there.”

MaryO: “Another hearty “thank you!” from me. Even days like today, when I’m in hermit mode, I’m always reading, getting support, learning things from what everyone else has posted and what you’ve lovingly put on the website for us.

It always amazes me, the scope and breadth of all the information that you’ve made so easy for us to read. Sometimes, I go back and read the older guest transcripts and I’m amazed at how truly timeless the information is.

I would imagine that running a site like Power Surge is a lot of work, mostly thankless work. I can’t thank you enough for all the hope and help that PS has given me over the last 7 (?) or 8 (?) years. It’s changed me in more ways than you’ll ever know.

Thanks again :)”

SylvryMoon: “A big DITTO from me, to what Mary said.

Although I don’t post much any more (try to get out in the evenings, to stay away from isolation), I am still lurking, responding occasionally, but always – ALWAYS – my heart is with this website, with Dearest, and with everyone here.

At the ripe old peri-menopausal age of (*ahem*) 50, I yearn for some of the wisdom and serenity I find in the women’s posts here. I’ll be there someday. In the meantime, I’ll keep reading and learning.

Hugs to you, Dearest!! You keep us all alive and in touch with our bodies, our emotions, our spirits, and our FRIENDS here on these boards!”

sturdywoman: “Dearest, MaryO and all of you who have shared your hearts & saved my sanity:

Power Surge has been better for me than any hormone! I found all of you when I was starting to feel soooo defeated. I found that with each post that I read was a little part of me, a symptom I was having, or something I was afraid to share. So thank you for doing it ahead of me so I know it’s OK! When I am struggling I think of all of you and I am stronger, more optimistic and less lonely. Hurrah for all of us! We will make it through this together & and be wiser for it . sturdywoman “

Suzie: “Hi Dearest,

I’m still enjoying your web site and log in at least once a day! Sometimes several! I feel like I’ve learned a wealth of information about menepause. I feel sometimes like I”m more informed than my Dr. ! I’m trying a new gynocologist next month and hopefully she’ll be up to date on what goes on during this time.

I think someone should definately educate the medical profession MUCH MORE in this area! Thank God for your web site for all of us who are fortunate enough to have found it. Women definately need support and education at this time of our lives and I really feel like I’ve found it here. Thank-you.

Love,
Suzie”

kathycw: “Power-surge is wonderful. It introduced me to R Soy, Dr. Lee and progesterone cream. Just when we think we have this all under control, we are thrown a curve. But, then we read the posts and find out that we are not alone. Someone else has had this experience, and tells you what they did. What worked for them and what did not, so we realize, okay this is a crazy time in our lives, but we are not alone.

Thanks to Power-Surge.”

Cabo: “What a great site this has been for me. I remember back in March when I was somehow led to this fine place, I felt so alone and different from the person I had always been. My creativity seemed to be lost, my patience was way out the window, I looked different than ever before and I felt no one understood, therefore I didn’t acknowledge it much. Finally I find this haven of information, compassion, understanding, peace, acceptance and laughter. I began to look at all this as somewhat a funny thing, like laughing at myself, in a good way that is. Anyway I could go on and on, but what I hope to show others is appreciation and to be able to reciprocate what has been given to me.

Thanks Dearest and everyone. Peace Cabo.”

debrikkia: “I add my name to the list of women who’s lives have been turned around by this Power Surge site.

Twelve years ago I entered surgical menopause with NO information about what was to come, or what to expect–just take that little estrogen pill every day and you’ll be fine. We all know it doesn’t work that way. Although I’ve visited PS for many years, I didn’t get actively involved until a year ago. Since then my life has been transformed through the wealth of knowledge and information available here, through Dearest, MaryO and all the women of Power Surge. Without this site, I would still be suffering, not realizing that so many symptoms are attributed to menopause and hormone fluctuations. I probably would have convinced myself by now, that I was insane.

I am no longer afraid of this thing called menopause, nor of all of it’s many faces. I also would like to thank all the “experts” that have taken the time to join us in chat, to share their information with us, and answer our questions. Thank you Dearest for making that possible!

Thank you Power Surge!

Debbi”

Abigail: “I am off Prempro and anxiously awaiting my first shipment of R. Thanks to this site I can make decisions about alternatives to HRT. Also, since I’m almost over the edge.

I sometimes hang on to this site for dear life. THANK YOU!!!!!”

dreamweaver: “Hello, It was such a God send that I happened upon this web site. I had all but given up any hope of finding anyone out here in cyber space that might have the slightest inkling of what I was going through. Because of your web sight I have gained strength from all of you who have shared your experiences through these message boards. God Bless everyone of you and Thank You!!!”

tinabrul: “At a time when I felt alone and totally at a loss to what was going on with me, I found power surge. There was such a sense of relief to realize I was not alone and not a ‘medical mystery’…how ignorant of this whole meno thing I was! Thank you incredibly alot for helping me through this time in my life.”

Nanshh: “Dearest, Thank-you. Thank-you Thank-you!!!!! Nan”

virgomom: “I am so happy to have found all of you, and Dearest, you are a lifesaver. I was just beginning to realize that I needed some help for these problems which overwhelmed me, if nothing else—-to hear that other people felt the same way as me. One minute, I feel at ease in my own skin, sure that there has never been a time in my life when I felt so comfortable with being me. Then the next day—- I don’t know myself—don’t know what I want, who I am, nothing. My husband and sons are perplexed, but patient. I hold back more than they will ever know.

Thank you so much for the information, the chats, and the support.”

zoltanm: “you guys are doing great”

CSugarGrove: “Dearest, this site has helped me more than all the therapists in the world! I’m 51 and I’ve nearly completed my first year without a period. I was doing fine until this summer, when the hot flashes and mood swings got so bad I couldn’t stand it anymore. My doctor (unbelievably, a female who has gone through menopause!) prescribed HRT for me 18 months ago, but I didn’t take it at first because I thought I could control everything with self-talk and strict mental control.

However, it got to the point this summer where I was exploding all the time at little things; loading the dishwasher, untying a knot, waiting in line. I have been married to a wonderful man for 20 good years. We always got along fine, but now I was becoming edgy and irritable all the time. I started blowing up at him for normal everyday things that never used to bother me. For example, we’ve always been playful with each other. We had silly games and secret code words. But now, when he tickled me or just touched my hair, I grew tense and wanted to scream, “Don’t touch me!” Then, later on, the anger would dissolve and I was filled with overwhelming grief, sobbing, apologizing. What was happening to me? I felt like I was on some crazed roller coaster ride. I do not want to ever lose my husband, but an eventual divorce was suddenly no longer ridiculous. If I continued to behave this way, it could happen, not right away, because he is easygoing and tolerant, but maybe some day.

I wanted to tell you that the one thing about this site that has helped me more than anything is reading, and remembering, the posts. When I’m having a bad day, the words of everyone will sometimes echo in my head and I’ll feel almost guided. Before, I was scared and alone. I had no idea about all of the symptoms, how so many things I was experiencing were very normal. Sometimes I felt a moment of craziness, after a particulaly bad dream, or overwhelming hot flashes, or the strange new fatigue, or the negative view of myself, and I’d think, “You’re cracking up; you’re becoming like your mother.”

Then I started reading the Power Surge message boards and I was amazed to learn that many women had bad dreams at night or negative self images, and this was not the end of the road, but rather, a challenge to be dealt with in a positive way. Certainly, reading about other people’s experiences, their thoughts and feelings, has provided me with more moral support than anything else in the world. And this site has given me that.

Thanks again for a great site!!!”

CSugarGrove: “I think menopause is still UNMENTIONABLE, even with friends? If I try to talk about how I’m feeling, the barriers go up and the room clears out. I told a menopausal friend of mine about some nightmares I’d had, then asked her if she had any trouble sleeping or anything. Without looking at me, she said, “You must have eaten something weird for dinner!” Then she walked away. End of conversation. So I’m even more grateful for this site, because we can talk about anything and everything!”

Gemini: “Yep, we certainly can talk about anything and everything, that’s why we’re here, so keep talking ! 😉 “

VikingLady: “Hello…hello…hello…..I found you all once again!

Alice, it has been a long journey for you. Just 9 years ago you began your first meetings in an AOL private room. What amazing work you have accomplished girl! Has it been that long? Sheesh. I continue to battle meno-mania. Just when I think things are settling down, whew! I go into another tail spin. I am on an upsurge at the moment, but I am holding on tight for the next phase! LOL Gotta keep laughing though or my family would committ me:) It was a comfort to see your name once again!”

boni: “It’s been a year now since I first logged on to Power Surge. I had gone thru some rather bumpy times, as most of us all have. I thought I would never survive.

I am happy to say that with all the info that is here, the friends that I have made, I am doing pretty good. I love Pete. He has become one of my top 10 important people. He has gotten me thru that deep valley, it has not been easy but I am almost there.

I thank Dearest again, for suggesting that I get R. I have been on it almost a year, it is part of my daily regimine.

I found out about Natural HRT as my early post state, I was on everything from shots to patches, now BiEst thru  (Pete).

And most of all I was thankful that I was not Crazy, that I had Meno Sisters across the country that shared the horrors of life’s transition. I was not alone. It made it easy to get on and talk about what was going on. It became my “Shrink”.

So 1 year later, life is looking pretty good. You don’t have to feel & look old, your life does not have to stop, you can make it thru… Power Surge is there for you and ” Dearest,” you have done a great job and I want to say “THANK YOU” :)”

onesister: “Dearest,
Thank you so much for this site. I am 45 and started having perimenopause symptoms. There are so many things I wanted to know about and ask “is this normal?’ To find so many women with similar questions and answers is a god send. It can be difficult articulating about physical and emotional issues, here I find women who have had the same experience as myself. I know I will continue to visit the site for all kinds of help for a long time to come. Thank you everyone.
onesister. “

Dearest: “It pleases me so much to know that Power Surge has helped so many women over the years. It’s always wonderful meeting new women who will go down the same path so many of us have and end up so much more enlightened by our open discourse and supportive communcation.

Thanks for all your kind words. I’m so happy you’ve all benefitted from finding Power Surge.

Dearest”

Charmaine: “This place has been my helpmate, my oasis of calm, and my best friend when I didn’t know what was happening to me. Thank you all.”

Cabo: “Having been slammed into menopause a week after an emergency hysterectomy, I felt like my world was spinning and spinning and I couldn’t get on or off.I suffered for almost a year, quietly and to myself until I was led (divinely I swear) to this marvelous, informative helful site-Power-Surge. I will treasure this forever. I am so very thankful for this home. I check everyday to see what is new, what I can contribute to, how a friend is doing and sometimes, I just get the biggest laugh of my day here. It feels better than anything to just laugh for me. I laugh about forgetting things, losing words in the middle of a sentence, trying to lose this 15lb weight gain, that for the life of me just will not move. All this and more are things I accept and didn’t before. I attribute the peacefulness of this to understanding meno and things that go along with it; Thank you Thank you Thank you Dearest, you have been a lifesaver to me and many more. I am laughing now because I don’t think I can ever make a story short only long, hehe! Peace Cabo”

Suseyq: “Dearest: I just wanted to add to comments on this post as to what Power Surge has meant to me. When I first started peeking in last March, I thought I felt pretty good. I was just getting some first real symptoms of meno (had hysterectomy 3-1/2 yrs. ago). Now I guess I’m really in the midst of it, and can’t tell you how much it means to be able to look at the post here and see I am normal. And perhaps it will some day end. I’m really looking forward to reading the transcript eventually of this week’s chat by Elizabeth Ploude. I went to a couple of sites that mentioned her, after seeing the preview to the chat. It should be interesting. I too feel like too many women are having this surgery and Doctor’s really downplay it. So, thank you Dearest for this great place to come to. “

Suzie: “Dearest,
First I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for creating this wonderful, caring and informative web site. I am another one who would have definately thought I was going crazy if I hadn’t found it. I had been admitted to the emergency room 3 years ago with the beginning of perimenepause and have since had some very intense moments. If not for power-surge I couldn’t have kept my sanify. I look forward to checking in every night after work and in the morning too if I have time. I read all the transcripts and have checked all the recommendations. Just listening to other women’s experiences is very comforting and assuring that all of this is somehow “normal.” I had no idea before this that menepause could cause such emotional turmoil. I thought I’d just have a few hot flashes and I’d feel fine! Ha! What a joke! If men only knew half of it! Even the doctors don’t understand it! The best information I have gotton has been from this web site. It has also provided the opportunity for friendship with all of these women who would otherwise never have met! I am very thankful for all of you.
Hugs,
Suzie”

GG: “Dearest,

This sight has made me feel safe to express whatever it is I am feeling. Menopause is a very trying time. I read alot of books and tried to make myself as well informed as I possibly could seeking comfort in knowledge. But the support that you get from the women on this sight walking down the same path with you on a daily basis and expressing such knowledge and compassion is a tremendous help. Sometimes you read something and you think oh man I remember when I went through that and was so scared and now it has passed and I find I really wasn’t alone. The sight is so nicely put together that even someone like me that knows so little about computers feels comfortable. Thank You and Thank You to all the ladies that are willing to share life in it’s ups and downs.

GG “

virgomom: “Thank you ALL for a wonderful sight. How are you doing??? I wouldn’t be sane without this site!! You were so caring and gifted just to figure out to MAKE this place for us!”

TexasLady: “Powersurge Ladies, I thank each and everyone of you with all my heart. I have met so many dear ladies on this site. You have commiserated with me thru hot flashes, insomonia, palps, depression. I could go on and on but you all know! I come to this site when I desperatly need advice ,understanding friends and just reassurance that this menopause WILL end someday. If not soon, then at least someday. But I am grateful not to have to wade thru this unchartered water alone. Bless you Dearest for having created and maintained this site and bless each of you who have made me laugh until I hurt or have given me a good cry when I needed that also! Thank you.”

Texwoman: “Power surge has been wonderful support connecting with other women who understand and are also going through menopause. It’s all too much to take without someone helping you keep your feet on the ground.

Tex”

rheaJ: “This is a wonderful web site, but I just discovered a new feature. I listened to the audio welcome not too long ago. It is fabulous! The text is so comforting and soothing; as is the voice. It is a very beautiful and musical sounding voice. Is the voice Dearest’s voice? I think the audio welcome is a wonderful feature.”

MaryO: “Yes, Dearest made that a while ago – maybe a couple years ago now.

If you haven’t heard this before, it’s in her bio (along with her picture) at Power Surge Is What Friends Are For! “

LaLadybug45: “Hello Everyone, I have just recently found “Power Surge” and I tell you I consider it a Godsend. I am 57 and still going through this mess. And basically I have been muddeling along for years thinking I was crazy or stupid or whatever. Also thought I had alzheimers, (my Mom did). Now I know that I dont. I realize there’s a good chance that I may get it but I still feel better reading the stuff on the boards about memory. Thanks so much to each and everyone of you Dear Ladies and especially Dearest. I am stll learning my way around here so if I goof up or something, please be patient. Hugs, LaLadybug.”

CSugarGrove: “I agree with you one hundred percent. What I have learned on this website has made such a difference to me that instead of having a miserable life, with all sorts of weird symptoms, not knowing most of it was menopause, to actually being able to have a sense of humor about it all, due only to the fact that I have knowledge. And the only way I got it was from this website. At this point, it really and truly has changed my entire experience. I don’t know if there is any way to thank Dearest for something like this. You just can’t put a value amount on it.

When I first joined, I did a lot of reading: the posts, guest transcripts, informational articles, and so forth. I wasn’t really into menopause fully at that time. Sometimes, some of the posts sounded, well, overdone or exaggerated. I told myself I’d never have such a hard time.

Well, guess what. The symtoms worsened. And suddenly I started logging on to find out about different things. I logged on when I just felt sad or bad. Sometimes, in just reading the posts, I’d be amazed to discover a symptom that I’d had but never attributed to menopause. And I received knowledge and ideas, with a few chuckles about it all.

There is no way to measure the positive impact this website can have. It is truly one of the great “Wonders of the World” for me. A year ago, I would have told myself to “shut up, you’ve lost it, there’s no way anything could be that great.” But now I know it’s true. I’d recommend this website to absolutely any woman who was approaching, or going through, menopause.

Dearest, you can take credit for creating a new generation of women who not only survived menopause, but will do so in a healthy and postive way. We will all come out on the other side improved for the experience. We feel a new openness about it that we can utilize when our daughters start the process. I’m already talking briefly to my 32 year old daughter about my symptoms in an open and honest manner, instead of feeling ashamed and secretive.

Dearest, you’ve changed the world!!”

Cabo: “SugarGrove,
Your words described how I feel so adequately. I don’t know where I would be without Power-Surge. I truly truly mean that. This is such a wonderful place with so many many helpful, kind people. I wish the world were full of Power Surgers! It would be such a better place! Dearest, you can be the President too. Peace Cabo”

GGc0ok: “In my opinion I feel that we are such a lucky generation of meno’s. I believe that women help women now more then ever. We have taken it out of the hush hush world and made it another chapter of our lifes adventure. Its nothing to whisper about, its a normal process, weather it be surgically induced or the natural process. Each of us are so different, we walk in different shoes. Yet we are so much the same. I have learned that through our own experiences that we share with one another that we are able to help another, and be helped ourselves. This is the most honest, most informative site about menopause and all the extended issues that come along with it.

I think that Dearest should be so proud that it was her that was the pioneer for this great big wonderful Power Surge Family. Thank you Dearest, I am so glad to be just a small part of what you’ve created.

GG :)”

valtog: “I don’t know where to start. Well I really have gotten a lot from this sight. Thank You Dearest!! I’m going to be 41 next week and the last few months have been pretty lousy. First my libido dissappeared, then I skipped a period for the first time. Although I have had other symptoms for about 3 years.I can’t keep a thought in my head for more than 10 seconds, the hot flashes are getting worse, I have pimples for the first time since puberty and a lot of headaches, and I am so bitchy I can’t stand to even be around myself:) I have a gyn appt for blood tests and a consultation with a menopause specialist. Untill I came here, I was convinced I would have to take hrt (something I didn’t want to do) but I came here, read some of the books recommended and ordered some R and Vitamins. I am going to give those a few months and see what happens. Now I have some hope that I may not have to take HRT and if I do, I have information about the different kinds that are available.

Again, Thank You!
Val”

CSugarGrove: “I wish the world were full of Power Surgers. But when I try to carry the honesty and openness from this website into my daily life, I still get silence from people.”

Slim: “Dearest, Thank you for putting this site together. I havent been here long, but I have learned so much already. There is so much to read, it keeps me busy. I’m reading everything. I have started R, but am going slow with it because it gives me gas. I’ll work my way up slowly…Anyway, Thank you Thank you Thank you all for being here!!!”

MrsUnderstood: “The reputation of Power Surge as the #1 menopause site popped out at me in a very unexpected way last evening. My twenty-something daughter had me check a website about an issue that pertained to her life. While I was at the site I browsed some issues I was interested in. There it was on the side of one of the topics, “Power Surge the #1 menopause site”. Wow!!! There are so many ways a woman can find this wonderful site, it is no surprise women are saying they just found this site every day. Dearest, your hard work of building a good reputation here is evident all over the web. :):):) ~Helen”

sodepressed: “Dearest, I am new to this site but have to tell u what I have been searching so far it is GREAT. I feel like this site will make a new life for me, so much info. I found this site a few days ago, and what a difference it has made in my life! You have done a incredible (JOB). Thank u soooo much. Before I found this site I felt like I was loosing my mind. Did not understand what in the world was happening to me. I have been suffering for sooo long with these night sweats and day sweats not to mention everything else I learned from menopause. And now to know there is a soy bean product called R that can help with this, I feel like I will have a new life. Many many thanks to u.

Thank you sooo much.
God Bless. Cathy”

CathyJ: “Hi everyone,

I found this website about a week ago when I was just at my wits end. And I have to tell u how this site has changed my (LIFE) allready. 🙂 Everysince my hyst back 3 yrs ago I have suffered daily with this menopause. Not sure what was going on in my body and why. Did not have no answers to nothing. but since I have joined this site Oh how my life has changed in just a matter of a week. There is so much info on here and answers to my questions I have to where before I diden’t as I said. Not to mention the wonderfull people I have met here and Dearest to. 🙂 I ordered my R in hopes it would help me with all my menopause sypt and after being on it for 6 days I have to say my night sweats have decreased. I was having them all night long to where now I noticed last night I only had 2 all night. What a relief. Well I just wanted to thank u Dearest for having such a wonderfull site for us women, where we could turn to each outher in our mid life problems.”

feel2young: “Just having found this site today — you have already helped. I’m a nurse by profession so everyone I talk to here at home thinks I should already know the answers. Night sweats doubled by a husband that sleeps warm anyway in a full sized bed, sometimes not so fun, difficult periods ie; cramping and not a lot of flow or not so much cramping and a flow that tells me I should have gotten stock in platex. Anyway, at least now I have someplace to at least know I’m not alone and get answers, how refreshing.”

leanne0721: “This site has been a Godsend to me. We women would never have the support we have without this site. I feel stronger, I feel more able, I feel better than I have in a very long time, and I feel that old bounce in my step that I thought I had lost when all this peri-meno hit. I only wish there was something I could do for power-surge, because power-surge had done so much for me. Thank you.”

debrikkia: “Although I’ve posted my praises for Power Surge on this board before, I must add a little more.

First of all, again I will say that I have gained more information and insight from Power Surge than I could have obtained from all the doctors I’ve seen put together. And, you’ll never find more support from anyone in the medical field that matches that of the “Surgettes.

There is always hope and help here–from the opportunity to “Ask the Experts” personally, to the instant gratification of the “insta chat”–and everything in between. The message boards now cover just about any question a woman (or man) might have on the subject of mid-life issues and menopause.

I have visited hundreds of websites on various subjects, but I have to say that I have never seen one as “complete” and well put together as this one. So comprehensive, yet so easy to navigate. This is the most interactive site I’ve ever seen…….truly a Family of caring individuals that come to know each other as if they were sitting across a table, sharing a cup of coffee.

Dearest followed her heart and a dream, and because of that, many of us have found some answers that have made it possible for us to begin to follow our own dreams again. Thanks, Dearest–and Power Surge.
Debbi”

LiberatingEve: “Dearest,
It has been my intention in the last few weeks to give my respect to you for creating Power Surge and my appreciation to the others who help to manage the site.

I have found that some days this site is my best friend. I can find answers to almost anything concerning menopause.

I have found the entries from some of the other women to be so sincere and honest, I think that is one of the things I enjoy most about it.

My praises to you for this wealth of information and thanks for my opportunity to be a recipient of it.”

MrsUnderstood: “It’s hard to believe that I joined Power Surge a year ago. The number of members has doubled and grows rapidly every day. I certainly never dreamed that I would make friends from so many different states and other countries. That has been a real bonus to reaching this stage in life for me. Like many women have said, I look at my early posts and realize how much I have learned. Yet every day it seems I learn something new. Whenever I think I have seen all the areas, I find there is more information that I haven’t gotten through yet or need to reread. The guest chats have been very interesting for me. Reading the transcripts and information on the guests that have been on Power Surge is an area I can always find something new. Thanks Dearest for all your hard work in putting together and keeping Power Surge going. ~Helen”

MaryO: “Congratulations, Dearest and everyone involved with Power Surge!

The tenth year – that’s so fantastic. I wonder, Dearest, if you’d have known that this would have grown so huge, involving so much of your time (and money?) would you have still done it? Or maybe had Power Surge on a smaller scale.

These days, it’s tough to keep anything going for 10 years. Power Surge is not only going, but going strong – getting bigger and better every year.

Wow! What a wonderful service you have done for women everywhere. I know what a lifesaver Power Surge was to me when I was starting out. I’m sure that others feel the same way, too.

Thanks, again, for being there to help me through this often rough time, and making it all go smoother, easier – and even FUN! Thanks for having the best-ever support system on the web, or anywhere that i know of.

I know you’re probably all tired of the CongaRats, but they have to dance, anyway.”

Gemini: “We never get tired of the CongaRats, and 10 years is well worth celebrating. Well done everyone!”

MrsUnderstood: “Congratulations Dearest, Mary, and everyone who has helped with the successes of Power Surge! Just think in the next decade there will be second generation surgettes coming here for advice and sharing. The Conga-rats are favorites of mine so keep them dancing. ~Helen”

Cabo: “*******HAPPY ANNIVERSARY POWER SURGE********
AND THANK YOU SO MUCH DEAREST- For what I consider to be one of the best things in my life, this wonderful place you have made and nurtured. This Power Surge has helpled so many people, it is so clear to see. It is amazing to see how many woman have passed through this stage and still are so very active here. That is such an indication of what this means to them. To us, we gain from them wisdom, compassion and humor. When I first arrived here, believe me I felt like my best gift which was laughter was so very gone. I felt like every creative bone I had in my body up to that point was whisked away and I never knew where it went or why. Only, through here (which I swear I was divinely led) did I recognize why and acceptance and understanding to all this. Oh, and by the way early on someone suggested that I should just watch funny movies on a weekend. Something so simple and guess what it began to “do the trick” Laughter is back. So, what can I say to you Alice, that could ever show my gratefulness? And to all the great moderators, like you mentioned. I am so thankful to all of you. You are the Best girls. How proud you should all feel that you help so many people, so freely. One of the greatest gifts of Love I think is Service. You have the market cornered. Anyway Peace to you all forever and ever. Cabo (Carol) “

JRS: “What an awesome accomplishment!!

Dearest, Thanks again to you and the whole PS team. You have helped so many of us see how “normal” we really are. The peace of mind that brings is truly a first step to getting through this phase of our lives. The wonderful ladies that come here have made a great difference in how I’ve handled life this past year. I can’t imagine how alone I would have felt without all of you. Many, many thanks and congratulations!”

rheaJ: “Happy Birthday, Power-Surge! Thank you, Dearest, for providing this haven of support, comfort and information. You deserve lots of hugs and a moment to put your feet up and bask in your achievement. This must have been a true labor of love because it shows in the work you do. I wish you continued sucees here at Power-Surge and in all your endeavors.

Thanks to MaryO, Irene Crites and all the moderators for their efforts here. The support here is incredible.

I wouldn’t go so far to say that this is the best web site, but I would say it is definitely in the “Top 1”!!!

Kudos and bouquets to you all!”

chriscarol: “Congratulations on the 10th anniversary of “Power Surge.” You’ve made a wonderful contribution to womenkind!!!”

Marney: “What a great community this is! TEN YEARS. Wow!! If I was Dearest I would feel so good about the contribution I was making to the world. And can you imagine if our mothers had something like this to help them through those rough years? I can remember how she suffered…alone…and of course I could never understand her moods, which are now my moods. I still don’t understand them, but I come to these message boards and read, read, read and it makes me feel better. There is some good in this world after all, isn’t there?”

Jimi: “Power Surge has become my comfort corner as well. I feel very grateful to Dearest for creating this wonderful place. It’s been a life saver for me. I have had many a good chat and many a good whinge and there is usually someone willing to listen to my troubles and I to theres. I have been talked through anxiety attacks, states of depression and laughed till I have cried as well. I hope I have helped some of you also. Just wanted to say Thank you everyone for being so compassionate and caring.”

fyneart: “Wow, maybe I am NOT losing my mind!

Thank you thank you Power-Surge. Sincere gratitude goes out to you. After reading the boards and hunting around your site I realized that I am indeed going through perimenopause.

I thought I was losing my mind or something to that effect. I am 39, two weeks away from 40, and I am astounded to realize that menopause at my age is quite possible. I get hot flashes (sometimes every 30 min!), cry at the drop of a hat, wake up throughout the night, recently started getting headaches, and um, well, how do i say it… drying up.

It all makes sense now. Thank you for your support and just being here!
Rebecca”

shereede: “Power Surge has given me the gift to connect with other women friends that understand. I cherish this site. I still have it bookmarked after 4 computers and look to it everyday.

I still have a bad day now and then, but not like before. I have coping skills that wise women of power surge have taught me. I read all the transcripts and learn something new every week. I hope all my friends good health and happiness.
Fondly, Sheree “

Cabo: “Dear Dearest,
Thanking you profusely cannot be enough. I like everyone else here, don’t know what I would have done if I had not stumbled onto this site. As I say I think I was divinely led here, truly! When I look back at my early posts I can see what state my frame of mind was in. I feel so much better, and so much more knowledgeable, and feel like I am connected to a group of friends who all understand each other. I could go on and on. When I think that it is only you, 1 person doing all this I am boggled. I know you have wonderful ladies on board who help you. I’ve said it once and again, You are a gift. I thank you Alice and Peace. Carol “
